Amazon Web Services (AWS) has introduced several new services and updates, including the availability of Claude Mythos on Amazon Bedrock and the launch of AWS Agent Registry. These announcements were highlighted in the latest AWS Weekly Roundup.
Amazon Bedrock now offers a preview of Claude Mythos, Anthropic’s advanced AI model, through Project Glasswing. This model is designed for cybersecurity applications, capable of identifying software vulnerabilities and analyzing codebases. Access to Claude Mythos is currently limited to allowlisted organizations, with priority given to internet-critical companies and open-source maintainers.
The newly launched AWS Agent Registry, accessible via Amazon Bedrock AgentCore, provides a centralized catalog for organizations to manage AI agents, tools, skills, and custom resources. The registry facilitates the discovery of existing capabilities, reducing duplication, and includes features like semantic search, approval workflows, and CloudTrail audit trails. It is accessible through the AgentCore Console, AWS CLI, SDK, and as an MCP server queryable from IDEs.
In addition to these major announcements, AWS has launched several other updates. Amazon S3 Files transforms S3 buckets into shared file systems, connecting AWS compute resources directly with S3 data. Amazon OpenSearch Service now supports Managed Prometheus and agent tracing, offering a unified observability platform. Amazon WorkSpaces Advisor, an AI-powered administrative tool, is now available for troubleshooting Amazon WorkSpaces deployments. Amazon Braket has added support for Rigetti’s 108 qubit Cepheus QPU, providing access to a superconducting quantum processor.
Other notable AWS news includes a storage blog post on building automated AWS Regional availability checks with Amazon S3, a machine learning blog post on understanding the Amazon Bedrock model lifecycle, and a compute blog post on building memory-intensive apps with AWS Lambda managed instances. Additionally, a Builder Center guide compares AWS deployment options for OpenClaw, and Kiro is relaunching its startup credits program.
Upcoming AWS events include “What’s Next with AWS” on April 28, featuring discussions on agentic AI and its impact on businesses. The event will include insights from AWS CEO Matt Garman, SVP Colleen Aubrey, and OpenAI leaders.
These updates and announcements reflect AWS’s ongoing efforts to enhance its cloud services and provide developers and organizations with new tools and capabilities.
